The 49ers Academy delivers care that reaches beyond academics and focuses on the well-being of the whole young person.

Student and Family Support programs aid students’ holistic well-being through:

• The Giving Center - providing clothing, shoes, school supplies, and financial assistance for groceries and basic necessities to meet short-term needs.
• Community Partnerships - connecting families to community service agencies for mental health support, legal aid, housing assistance, financial coaching, and employment guidance.
• Advocacy - creating an equitable environment for disenfranchised communities of color by helping students advocate for their needs and enact meaningful change.

These tangible supports have never been more crucial. East Palo Alto students and their families face persistent inequality and have access to fewer economic, educational, and health care opportunities compared to families in nearby wealthier communities. The pandemic has created further pressure with growing rates of displacement, homelessness, unemployment, and food insecurity.
