Schools are closed, the San Francisco 49ers Academy is not!!
I hope that you and your loved ones are keeping safe and healthy as we face this unprecedented public health emergency together.
We continue to be deeply concerned about the well-being of our students and families. Loss of work and income, and being cut off from the school community can create tremendous stress and impacts access to basic needs like food, shelter, and other necessities.
While students are not physically in school, we remain dedicated to their well-being and continued learning. Our 49ers Academy team is adapting to this ever-changing situation, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to support students and connect them to needed resources and services.
We are currently providing the following supports during school closures:
- Continued 1 on 1 support to students through virtual case management to provide connection, emotional support and needs assessment.
- Partnering with local community organizations to create a solid service pipeline and helping families navigate and connect with the various basic needs resources that are available.
- Emergency basic need assistance for families impacted by COVID-19.
- School supplies for at-home learning.
Many members of our community have asked how they can help during this challenging time. As we continue to support or students and families—our most immediate needs are direct donations. These are truly extraordinary times, and we need your help more than ever. We have also set up an Amazon wish list that will help supply our students and their families with essential items.
