The San Francisco 49ers Academy is proud to announce an exciting update in the evolution of our leadership. After a unanimous Board vote and with great enthusiasm, the 49ers Academy’s Board of Directors is thrilled to announce the promotion of our own Deputy Director, Tahisha S. Victor, MSW, into the role of Executive Director effective this March. Over the past two years, Tahisha has steadfastly served as Deputy Director, spearheading our COVID-19 response for the organization, which includes the launch of an innovative pilot program serving students at Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School. Tahisha is thrilled to assume this role for the Academy at this important time in its history. In addition to her extensive experience supporting youth and families, she earned her Master of Social Work with a specialization in organizational development. Tahisha is fervent about closing the opportunity gap and supporting kids in reaching their full potential and looks forward to supporting the 49ers Academy in this new capacity.

After 25 dedicated years as its Executive Director, Michele Sharkey will step down from her role at the 49ers Academy this year. We are grateful for Michele’s leadership and honored she will continue to support the organization as Founder, effective March 1, 2021. In this role, Michele will continue to share her talents as an incredible ambassador for the organization and a key relationship builder within the 49ers Academy community.Â

The San Francisco 49ers Academy has been such an enormous part of my life over the past 25 years and I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to touch so many lives. While I won’t be involved in the Academy’s day-to-day operations come March 1, I can’t imagine a time when I won’t be involved with this amazing organization.
